Wind & Fire MC Chapter #9

North Kansas City, Missouri

CHAPTER 9 DIRECTOR SCOTT CRAIN.

Wind & Fire is a Harley riding Firefighter club. Our chapter membership is open to any Harley riding firefighter, active or retired, from North Kansas City or from any other fire department in the area that does  not have the required 5 members to form  their own chapter.   Associate Members may also be brought into the club with the sponsorship of a full member. Our primary mission is to get together, ride our Harleys and have fun. Our secondary focus is on helping others through charity. For more information on Wind & Fire MC click on the link below.

OUR CHAPTER

Back in 1996, Capt. Bob Linn was thumbing through a biker magazine when he came across an article about how you could join this great motorcycle club for firefighters.  He talked it around with the other Harley riders on the job and they mostly thought the idea was a little crazy.  But Bob saw what the club could be and wanted to be a part of it.  This was back in the early days of Wind & Fire MC when you could form a chapter without the required five members like it is now.  So knowing it would be cool to wear colors, take trips with your friends, drink beer, and party, Bob applied for a membership and Chapter #9 was born.    Bob Linn , Scott Crain, Tom Campbell, and Doug Hobbs were the first members.  Bob and Scott took advantage of a one time offer to pay $50 and became Charter Members which meant they were 2 of 100 members to be offered this honor. This in itself is quite remarkable with our numbers today at over 4000 worldwide. Chapter # 9 currently has 15 full members who are active and retired firefighters and 7 associate members.
